Capital Veterinary Specialists

We were referred by our primary vet and so happy with Capital Veterinary Specialists. From the moment we walked in the door we felt at ease. Everyone was friendly and greeted not just us, but our pup too. They kept us updated on status and what they were doing behind the scenes until we were all placed in a room. Dr Brown was very thorough with his explanation of diagnosis and took time to answer our questions and concerns. Would highly recommend this office to anyone.

Everyone was very helpful and friendly. I could see you have the most compassionate staff and doctors. It was obvious I selected the right place to go; from my initial phone call to get an appointment, to reception calling back after I got there an hour early to see if the doctor could see me a little sooner (she did), to the time and attention vet tech and doctor gave us, to observing other patients there with their dogs. I couldn't have been happier with how we were treated. Well worth the 6 hour round trip. Everyone was so kind and attentive to my pet's needs. She loved loved everyone there!

Sorry for reason for visits, but Douglas little long haired chihuahua was ran over with broken pelvis, tail and hind legs. He was operated on and cared for successfully. His tail doesn't wave anymore but he still has it. A limp carrying one leg part time but very much alive and loving. He enjoys going back they fuss over him and he eats it up. Great doctors and nurses.

If I could give Capital Vet Services more than 5 Stars, I would! They have been absolutely wonderful! Another facility in town told us there was nothing they could do for our pup and sent us home with some meds and gave her a few months to live. We called Capital Vet Services and they were able to get us in right away for a second opinion and said they could absolutely work with us to help try and save our pup! Dr. Jehn performed the surgery to remove the 8 lb sarcoma out of our pup and she is now on the mend! Dr. Jehn and Dr. Devlin went above and beyond to answer emails at all hours of the night and throughout the holidays to help us make it through the first few days and nights at home!! The entire staff was always so accommodating and helpful and you could tell they really care! Lilly and our entire family are forever grateful for you all! We will never use another specialist vet again!

I was prepared for the worst upon arrival but left with a much better situation. I knew my Chloe kitty had a rough start to life with a forearm and tail amputation at 4.5 months old but it seems she has other internal injuries that I was not aware of until now. A freak accident caused me to find out about those injuries through xrays. Knowing these important things will help me make the best life for her.

So let me start at the beginning. My dog was diagnosed with bone cancer and I was referred here. Thought I would be talking about pain management but they assured me that amputation and chemo would keep her happily alive for up to a year. They seemed competent and I trusted them. We decided to try it and had her leg amputated. I call in about two and a half weeks later because they hadn’t given me a date to start chemo and I was concerned. They notify me they never scheduled her for chemo. I was livid and then they tell me they can’t get her in for another month when it was supposed to be started 2 weeks after the amputation. Eventually they got me in about a week later. I set the appointment for 2 because we live several hours away and the time change. The night before I get a reminder message to be there at 8am. I call to see what happened and they tell me they never set 2pm appointments even though they had. So having no choice we load up the whole family early in the morning and make the drive. My daughter was sick so it took longer than I anticipated to get there. 15 min late and they send us home and refuse to treat her. Livid again. I coordinate with my local vet and after many threats of canceling my previous payment they sent their protocols to my local vet. Takes them a week to get it so now we are over a month out from surgery twice as long as it should have been. Two months after that my dog dies in my arms. These people do not care about your animals they only care about how much money they can make off them. I would never recommend these people to my worst enemies.
